This morning my sister came over and brought her eightteen month old over. Today is the first day I am to watch her from 8am to 3:30pm and boy am I tired.
Hediyah, my sister, is doing an internship at the Children’s Museum (the best place in the world!!!!) and so I am watching Laila during those hours.
She misses her mom so much that every time she is not being entertained she starts screaming and runs to the front door to put her shoes on. This is my niece so it’s not like she doesn’t know me I’m just like aww don’t cry, mommy will be back later on. She is ok now pretty much. Poor thing knocked her self out crying like that and now she is in my bed sleeping dead to the world. And my kids just don’t quit down for the sake of a sleepy cousin, and she is out out out. LOL I’m happy Insha’Allah when she wakes up she will be ok, much better.
My husband and I were scheduled for a date today. We were going to go get some lunch and then catch a show at the movies. Subhanna’Allah was I looking forward to this!! But Allah willed that we ALL would get sick and now are unable to go out. My husband and I are pretty much better but the girls are still sick.
boo hoo, but Insha’Allah next Sunday we’ll go instead Insha’Allah. Or maybe anyway, the race is that weekend…. my husband says it will be a busy day that day… we’ll see though Insha’Allah.
A friend of mine lives in Speed Way Indianapolis, I went to visit her like two weeks ago. And it was crowded and filled with traffic, I was like ” Why did you have to go live in speed Way!!” The race wasn’t even that weekend, it was just practice time and people were crowded around the track for that! Her apartment is like right there too.
It’s cool though, I’ve never seen the Indy 500 before, or any other race really for that matter. The movie Cars makes it look exciting though! LOL
“Just another day sitting in my hood just another day around the way, feeling good today”
LOL, remember that song? I probably said it all wrong LOL
Nothing really going on today, just chillin. Except for one MAJOR thing
SHE CRAWLED, Tahira crawled, her first little crawl was today at 11:47am!!!!!!! Alhamdulillah
she is getting so old, I just can’t believe it..It was yesterday that I left the hospital room carrying her…. **tear**
In accordance with the natural order of things the All Mighty has decreed that this semester is OVER and that I my dear readers (If I have any left due to my long departure) have done extremely well, Alhamdulillah.
Moving along:
Zahra and Tahira are up and about… well Tahira is in her crib just chillen away. Laughing and playing talking to whom ever will listen.
The 14 of August will be a wonderful day Insha’Allah. Such a day that Zahra will be off to her first day of Preschool. I think I will be hearing about how excited she is until the that very day. We (her and I) went the other day to enroll her at the Junior Islamic Academy of Indianapolis. You know It would be nice if the Islamic schooling for children from pre-k to 12 was no charge like the public school system. If would encourage more families to enroll their children to get Islamic as well as traditional Academic education… But then again, maybe then it would turn out to be the quality of a public school,… and we all know that sometimes that can really really … such.
Well, there is more to tell, and Pray to Allah I’ll be back again to tell all that is all.
With love
Ma’Salaama!
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there trying hard to raise your children to the best of your abilities, Insha’Allah Allah will bless you all and grant you paradise.
And remember, Paradise lies at the feet of YOU, mothers!!
Well, I am getting ready this morning to go to a Jennaza (funeral). Sunday my dear brother’s father died. What do you say? How do you tell a seventeen year old that his father has died… we are from Allah and to Him we will return!
I don’t have time now to give you the skinny on every thing but:
May 2008 Insha’Allah I’ll be walking down the aisle
I really think Zahra is done now, starting yesterday…
I got a perfect score on my midterm essay!!! 140 out of 140, that’s never happened before!!
I met a really cool chick the other day … Actually like a month ago now… but she is really cool…
I’ll elaborate on all of this later Insha’Allah
Love you all
Assalaamu’alaikum,
… Not really anyway.
Spoke with my cousin for HOURS though. Haven’t done so in a long while so we caught up a LOT! Her daughter just had a little boy recently (I knew that) and he is doing very well. So happy to hear this *smile* His name is Amir so beautiful.
Oh but the other day… Saturday, myself, sister and mother went out to an Indian restaurant, India Palace. It was a late birthday present to my momma. We were supposed to go to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, I’ve never been before though. But Allah made it so that a problem would surface. I had to get sick with a pretty and heartfelt cold that knocked the stuffing out of me.
After which I became sick again with this Hernia thing-a-ma-thing. Never-the-less, We had a really good time Al-hamdulillah, but I was hurting again a little before we left.
Allah Is Most Merciful
Oh, and I just remembered, I missed a call today from an Huntsville Al, friend I’ve known for YEARS. Her and her people are going to be coming up next month Insha’Allah and I am so excited about this, I have to return her call today.
She has a son the same age as Zahra. He’s a few months older though. ONLY thing I hate is that I’m carrying all of this access weight from the baby. I know, I know…
“You just had a baby four months ago Taubah”
Yes but I can’t stop holding on to the feeling that I’m fat.
Not that I think she and her family are going to think something different about me, I’m just a little insecure about my look at the moment… It will, Insha’Allah, pass.
Oh well anyway, added some new blogroll links yesterday, some good ones too I might add..
Check it out..
*Peace*
Funny how most often we never hear in history the contributions Muslims brought to our way of thinking and the development of our world up to this point…. even yes… in the west.
“How so very absurd ” One might think.
“Moslems are nothing but terrorist radicals with a bone to pick with us civilized westerners.”
That statement in it self is rather absurd. Considering the amount of Muslims that are IN the West. Not just Easterners moving to the west either, but real American or European born, down home (in some cases) country old Westerners.
But that is besides the point I am trying to make, it’s all about development.
How, my dear friend, did these western worlds come to be ever so civilized is the question. Is it possible… Just one day out of the blue, the Europeans stopped throwing their waste and urine out the window and stopped burning and running away from science and philosophy… “the work of the devil” NO I think not
Algebra, Geometry, Philosophy, Astronomy all of these sciences and more were advanced and brought, in some cases, out of the locked books and libraries of the ancient Greek thinkers.
When the Church was fearing knowledge and science, calling people witches and burning them on the stakes, Muslims were expanding and learning from other cultures. Sharing knowledge and making advancements. Without them, today would be a very different day indeed.
But…. you don’t have to take my word for it… (da don da)
check out this documentary on Google from the BBC called When The Moors Ruled Europe A look at the Islamic past of Spain and the influence it has on the present.
The Moors are the Muslim Spaniard’s, they ruled Spain for over 800years or so!!
Watch and be amazed.
………I know but it’s so cute….
I wanted something different than what I had and I thought this was sooo that.
